7DRL day 1: Items

  • The map is littered with items and randomly moving mobs
  • The player may pick up, equip, unequip, and drop weapons
  • 14 types of weapons with name, description, and stats
  • Mobs are assigned random weapons
  • Basic sidebar and inventory UI
  • Spent a couple of hours fighting a stupid bug that is now fixed.

Today I realized I didn't put any thought into the equations for the combat system, so I'm going to try to tackle that tomorrow, which means I probably need to deal with armor as well. Once I have combat, I can start playing with fire and electricity, but I think I'll be lucky if I make it past melee to ranged weapons.
